Viera's Weekday Errands Are Moving to Two New Corners This November

October 22, 2026

Two of the three Publix stores in Viera-Suntree sit on Stadium Parkway, and the third is at Suntree Square on North Wickham Road. That will change in the first week of November, when the area's fourth Publix is scheduled to open on Murrell Road, just south of Viera Boulevard. At the same time, a new strip center at the Pineda Boulevard end of Stadium Parkway is lining up hibachi takeout, an urgent care clinic, a pharmacy, a nail salon and a Pilates studio.

Together these two openings spread Viera's routine stops outward. The grocery run gets a new address on the Murrell Road side. Stadium Parkway keeps its supermarkets and adds a cluster of services at Pineda. All of this lands in the weeks before Thanksgiving, when the county is also reworking the Stadium Parkway intersection at Cuddington Drive.

Where the Publix Map Stood Before November

Viera Voice reported on Oct. 1, 2026 that Publix had 27 stores in Brevard, three of them in Viera-Suntree.

Store Address Corridor Status
Publix at Suntree Square 7777 N. Wickham Road Wickham Road Open
Publix at Stadium Corners at Viera 5380 Stadium Parkway, No. 100 Stadium Parkway Open
Publix at Addison Center at Viera 7655 Stadium Parkway Stadium Parkway Open since April 2024
Publix at Viera Promenade Northeast corner of Murrell Road and Berglund Lane Murrell Road, south of Viera Boulevard Scheduled for first week of November 2026

The Addison Center store opened in April 2024, so Viera Promenade will be the area's second new Publix in about two and a half years. It will also be the first of the four that isn't on Stadium Parkway or Wickham Road. If home is closer to Murrell Road and Viera Boulevard than to the parkway, the weekly shop may soon start somewhere new.

What Viera Promenade Brings Besides Groceries

At 50,325 square feet, the supermarket anchors the plaza. Publix media relations manager Lindsey Willis told Viera Voice that the store will have grocery, dairy, frozen, seafood, meat and produce departments, plus a full-service bakery and deli. She also said, "The store will feature an upstairs seating area for customers to stop and enjoy their favorite Publix finds."

The plaza's other planned tenants, as reported by the same outlet:

  • Publix Liquors, about 2,100 square feet
  • Sergio's Tacos, about 1,200 square feet. This is a homecoming: the restaurant served Mexican food out of the Mobil station at 5470 Murrell Road from 2015 to 2019. It also has Brevard locations in Melbourne, Cocoa Beach and Titusville.
  • Pigtails & Crewcuts, about 1,200 square feet. This children's hair salon will be the Atlanta-based company's first Brevard franchise and its 87th location across 25 states.
  • A 2.1-acre outparcel, tenant not yet named
  • An outdoor seating area for the plaza

So far, only the Publix itself has a public timeline. The first-week-of-November target came from the plaza's leasing firm, and Viera Voice framed it as "just in time for Thanksgiving." No separate dates have been announced for the liquor store, the taco shop or the salon. Expect them to open one at a time, not all at once.

Two things stand out for anyone who has lived on this side of Viera for a while. Sergio's is returning to the same road it left in 2019, this time in a plaza instead of a gas station. And the closest new kids' haircut option will be next door to the grocery store, so one parking spot can cover two Saturday errands.

Stadium Square Puts Services at the Pineda End of the Parkway

Most new Viera-Suntree grocery traffic will shift toward Murrell Road. Stadium Parkway's newest project is a different kind of center. Stadium Square is a 15,000-square-foot, seven-unit strip center under construction at 2903 Sodore Way, at Pineda Boulevard and Stadium Parkway. In a Sept. 8 update, The Viera Company said five of the seven units were filled.

Tenant What it is Timing
Makoto's To Go Takeout and delivery hibachi, 2,002 sq. ft. Aiming for November
MedFast Urgent Care Walk-in clinic, Suite 107 Under construction, no date posted
Viera Chemist LLC Local pharmacy No date announced
Xi Nails Nail salon No date announced
JETSET Pilates First Brevard County studio "Coming Soon"
Two open units Restaurant spaces, one with a drive-thru window Tenants not yet named

The center's first opening will probably be its most recognizable name. Makoto's Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi on Babcock Street in Melbourne has been serving the Space Coast since 1985, and Viera is getting its first-ever takeout location. General manager Sun-Ja Wingfield told Viera Voice that a hibachi flat-top will face customers, but there won't be tableside chef performances. There will be some tables for people eating on a break, and the sushi selection was still being worked out. "Our goal is to do great food at a quick service," she said. Wingfield and co-owner Yo Tonyai expect to hire about 25 people.

The urgent care clinic shows how the parkway is filling in. MedFast already runs a clinic at 5500 Stadium Parkway, Suite 101, open 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Its new Viera South location at Stadium Square will be the company's 19th in Brevard and its third in Viera-Suntree. When Viera South opens, Stadium Parkway will have two walk-in clinics, one near each end.

JETSET Pilates lists the Sodore Way address and offers a signup for updates but no opening date yet. According to Viera Voice, its classes are 50-minute, high-intensity, low-impact, full-body workouts on custom machines. The franchise has more than 200 locations, 28 of them in Florida. The leasing agent described Viera Chemist and Xi Nails as "high-end" businesses.

Stadium Parkway Is Under Construction While It Grows

The parkway is getting its new businesses during roadwork. On Oct. 19, Brevard County Public Works started the first phase at Stadium Parkway and Cuddington Drive, which adds left-turn lanes. According to the county's announcement, here's the timeline:

  1. Now through December 2026: Left-turn lanes are being added. The county doesn't expect any lane closures, but crosswalk access will shift, and milling and resurfacing will happen at night.
  2. After this phase: The intersection stays a four-way stop.
  3. April 2027: Signal installation is expected to begin.
  4. Before the 2027–28 school year: The signal work is expected to be finished.

So when Makoto's To Go is aiming to open and the holiday shopping season starts, Stadium Parkway will have new turn lanes but no new signal yet. Anyone who walks across Cuddington should expect the crossing points to move during the work.

The November Calendar Around These Openings

The new stores fall in the same weeks as Viera's regular holiday events, which gives the errand map its first real test. Brevard Zoo's Jazzoo is Saturday, Nov. 7, from 7 to 11 p.m. It's a 21+ ticketed evening with music on seven stages and food from 30 local restaurants, caterers and trucks. The Avenue Viera's Merry & Bright tree lighting runs Nov. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m., and Santa and Mrs. Claus are scheduled to light the 40-foot tree at 7:55 p.m. On Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 26, the zoo's Wild Turkey Trot 3K runs from 7:30 to 9 a.m.

If Viera Promenade's Publix opens on schedule, this Thanksgiving will be the first time the holiday grocery rush splits across four Viera-Suntree Publix stores instead of three. For households on the Murrell Road side, the closest bakery and deli counter for Thanksgiving week may be a new one.
